My chosen commercial is advertising wedding invitations. It is sending the message that brides should not stress over the invitations when they can just go to Gartner Studios to make it easy for them. The way this is shown is by having the brides in a mental institution due to the stressfulness of a wedding. The intended audience for this commercial would be brides. I believe it is affective because it’s true that planning a wedding is a worry some job, especially when you’re the bride. This advertisement makes using Gartner Studios sound so simple that it even goes as far as saying that it’s a “Do-It-Yourself-Wedding” helper. If I was a bride I would actually take this commercial into consideration because when the wedding planning starts getting hectic, I would want to take the easiest way out that’s possible. Even though I may take it into consideration I wouldn’t actually use it because I would want my invitations to be done my professionals and not myself. This Gartner Studios advertisement is categorized as humorous because of the sarcasm of the nurses and the insaneness of the brides. Overall I enjoyed this commercial and believe it gets it’s point across.
an average wedding in our area goes from $21,748 to $36,246 and that’s with a average amount of about 150 guests according to www.costofwedding.com
The lit major/librarian/nerd/book lover in me is FREAKING OUT that someone would do that to a book - and a great one at that - but the wedding planner/romantic/book lover in me thinks that it is incredibly sweet and perfect for a Harry Potter fan.
Anyone else have an awesome literary or fandom proposal they’d like to share?!
